Care Offered

Assisted living at Berman Commons offers full RN and LPN nursing staff and care customized for each resident. Resident care goes beyond the physical at Berman Commons. Wellness programs are designed to nurture the emotional, mental and spiritual needs of each person.

House calls are made on a regular basis from Berman Commons nurse practitioner and other medical professionals. There are outpatient therapies available on-site as well as hospice services. 

Residents can choose from a variety of bright, sunny spacious floor plans complete with designer kitchenettes and bathrooms. Apartments range from a studio, one and two- bedroom units.  Residents in assisted living have priority access the entire continuum of care offered by Jewish HomeLife.

Pathways is a bridge program for residents with memory loss.  For residents starting to isolate due to memory impairment, Pathways is a club that will encourage residents to be engaged by providing a daily routine with activities specifically designed to meet them where they are.  Pathways at Berman Commons offers a modified approach for residents who do not need full memory care but do need life to move at a more moderate pace.

For residents with Alzheimer’s or memory issues, Berman Commons is proud to offer I’m Still Here Center of Excellence. They are one of only 34 senior care communities in the country that is a Hearthstone-certified I’m Still Here. Offering meaningful experiences for residents daily. I’m Still Here engages residents to make choices about their likes and dislikes, to try new things, continue on with activities they enjoy while maintaining their independence and self -confidence.

Standout Features

At Berman Commons, the kosher kitchen headed up by the executive chef and culinary team creates delicious meals with fresh locally sourced ingredients daily. They are eager to learn resident preferences and can accommodate many special dietary needs.  Meals are served restaurant style in the sunny, lovely dining room. The dining room is special, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the terrace garden.

Residents also enjoy the weekly Shabbat dinner. Bergman Commons hosts a Food Forum monthly so residents can actively participate to share their feedback and make requests of what they would like to see on the menu.

Resident Ambassadors are there to welcome new residents and make introductions helping them to connect with neighbors with similar interests.

Activities at Berman Commons in the community, can range from arts, music, crafts, games to having a guest lecturer come in from Georgia State University. There are over 100 activities and outing on the calendar every month.

Residents receive free membership to the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta. Separated by only a short walking path, all the community center has to offer is available to residents.  Live theater, classes, health and wellness programs or watching competitions, it is all there providing an opportunity to expand even beyond the robust activities and amenities of Berman Commons.

Besides the beautiful interiors and spacious apartments, Berman Commons has warm and inviting common areas for friends and family to gather.  The outdoor spaces are equally as inviting with terrace gardens and walking paths.
