At Atria Buckhead, successful protocols and guidelines are prevalent in providing attentive care for residents and making sure residents needs are fulfilled.  Atria only hires nurses with a clinical skill set and management experience working with a geriatric population to fill the important role of Resident Services Director.  An assessment of each new resident is done by the Resident Services Director to determine care needs prior to arrival and then after on an ongoing basis to ensure all needs are being met. Care is discreet and comprehensive to include personal care, medication management and consultations with physicians and pharmacies to meet the needs of a resident where they are now and as their needs may change.

Short term stays at Atria Buckhead are welcome if a senior may need some help after surgery or a caregiver needs a break.  A short-term stay may also be the perfect opportunity for a senior to ‘tryout’ life in a senior community.

Emergency preparedness is part of Atria Buckhead’s protocols.  Atria staff are trained to respond to any emergency be it natural or medical, on a national or local level.  With preventative safeguards in place, Atria strives for uninterrupted resident care by planning for the unexpected.

Creating meaningful opportunities for residents everyday is the goal of Atria Buckhead.  Having the trademarked program, Engage Life is keeping residents happy with opportunities to learn, create, express and connect with others by providing activities designed for fun and fitness, specific to each resident.  Each resident fills out a Resident Discovery Survey which helps the Life Engagement Director create an exciting, varied calendar of events suited for each resident.  Resident input is important for the success of the activities program. If a resident has an idea for a new class, program or outing, staff works with the resident to create and implement the suggestion while the resident leads it.

Many of the chefs at Atria communities are from very well-known restaurants. The dining experience at Atria Buckhead brings together expertly prepared delicious food paired with sharing a meal with the excellent company of friends and family.  Scratch cooking with fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients offers a menu that will leave a resident satisfied and full. Atria recognizes that many of their residents are also excellent, accomplished cooks and love it when cherished family recipes are shared so they can be incorporated into the menu for all the residents to enjoy.

Because food is such a meaningful part of life, Atria Buckhead offers many creative culinary programs such as The Chef’s Showdown which is a lively competition of culinary mastery, The Chef’s Table where action stations are displayed so residents can see their food being prepared, Master Cooking classes, Guest Chef events and cuisine from around the world.
